The Archimedes Palimpsest project, which began more than 10 years ago under the auspices of the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, is coming to its conclusion with a publication by the Cambridge University Press of a two-volume set entitled 'The Archimedes Palimpsest'.
Volume 1 includes scholarly essays on various aspects of the project: conservation, imaging, history, including new details about the Parisian period (the 20th century), palaeography and codicology, discoveries of new texts and their importance.
Volume 2 contains fascimiles and transcriptions of the three most important groups of texts from the palimpsest: treatises by Archimedes, speeches by Hyperides, and a new commentary on Aristotle
